Ocean Software Announces New CEO and Reinforces Commitment to Innovation and Customer Service

Melbourne, Victoria — 29th November 2023 — Ocean Software, a leading provider of training and operations management software solutions to defence forces around the world for 30 years, most notably its flagship product FlightPRO®, today announced a transition in its leadership team.

Over the past four years, Ocean CEO Shaun Mitchell and the Ocean Team have sought to bring some significant change to Ocean and it’s offering.  Under Shaun’s leadership and vision, Ocean has almost completed the revamp of FlightPRO® to be a fully cloud-based system, allowing it to continue to be the world’s leading Training Information Management System for the next decade and beyond. Ocean have also just released the FlightPRO® Deploy product, allowing users to take FlightPRO® into the field and synchronise all missions on their return. Finally, released to the market was SmartBase®, which has been incredibly successful particularly with the recent version that is fully integrated with FlightPRO®.

Shaun and the team have now decided that there needs to be a change in leadership to allow for the next stage of growth for Ocean.

The company’s Chief Revenue Officer, Pete Smith, has been appointed as the new CEO moving forward.

Pete brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of driving growth, market expansion and digital transformation for customers in the aviation industry globally. Having been with Ocean since early 2022 as the Chief Revenue Officer, Pete has an established knowledge of the market, and relationships with customers and staff enabling a seamless transition with minimal disruption.
