For over 30 years, Ocean Software has built mission-critical technology that supports defence forces, aviation and training organisations, and emergency services to plan, train and operate effectively. Our Hiring Process

In the environments we work in, preparation, clarity and trust matter — and our hiring process reflects that. It’s designed to be thoughtful, transparent and respectful of your time, while giving you a clear understanding of who we are, how we work and whether Ocean is the right fit for you.

Step 1. Apply online

Once you’ve reviewed the position description, you can submit your application online. We encourage you to take the time to understand the role and how your experience aligns with it.

As part of your application, you’ll be asked a small number of screening questions to help us assess suitability against the key requirements of the role.

Step 2. Screening

Our People & Culture team reviews all applications against the role criteria and works closely with the hiring manager to identify candidates to progress.

This step helps ensure we’re thoughtful and consistent in how we assess experience and capability.

Step 3. Interview

The interview stage is about connection and understanding. We want to learn more about your experience, strengths and motivations, and what’s important to you in your next role.

You’ll also have the opportunity to learn more about the team, the work and what success looks like at Ocean. Interviews are designed to be open, two-way conversations.

Step 4. Assessments

Depending on the role, there may be one or more assessment stages. These are tailored to reflect the nature of the work.

Assessments may include problem-solving activities, technical tasks or presentation scenarios, designed to give you the opportunity to demonstrate your thinking and approach.

Step 5. Application outcome

Once interviews and assessments are complete, we gather feedback from across the process.

Our People & Culture team will aim to be in touch within a week to share the outcome of your application and discuss next steps.
