The Product Manager role will be responsible for shaping, defining and delivering the vison and strategy for 1 or more of Ocean’s products. Working closely with the Head of Software Engineering and Product Management as well as the Sales and Marketing functions within the business you will be responsible for capturing customer insights on product usage and desires and deliver a product roadmap that will improve the customer experience and deliver a return on investment.  

In addition, within this role you will be responsible for creating and maintaining the product backlog of features and will work closely with the Software Engineering Leads and their squads to ensue an understanding and alignment of the product strategy leads to the timely delivery of the desired customer features. This will involve having a well-defined plan to allow delivery of features within the organisation release cycles.



Be responsible for the product vision as well as product roadmap in response to customer and business drivers for 1 or more products.

Ensure the product vision and roadmap is appropriately communicated internally and externally to all stakeholders using the agreed platforms.

Work with the marketing team to understand current market opportunities for new innovation

Development of Product strategies to define features for future investment, features to be deprecated and identify ROI.

Identify new product/services and system functionality, while maintaining existing product/functionality to assist in achieving business objectives.

Drive continuous improvement across the product suite.

Track and understand product performance (e.g. market size, penetration, purchase behaviour etc.), through behavioural analysis and testing.

Scope the product/s into features to their smallest coherent state to ship to customers as early as you can.

Constantly evaluate if product/s have solved the problem through quantitative and qualitative measures.

Work with Sales and regional VP’s to help inform a commercially viable product vision.

Undertake customer research to understand customer pain points and requirements to help drive future product features.

Define the release schedule for engineering squads, in consultation with the Head of Software Engineering and Product Management, Software Engineering Lead and software squads.

Manage backlog priorities to ensure meaningful, customer-centric pipeline of features.

Empowered to make day to day decisions that enable the software squads to move quickly.

Ability to manage prioritisation in an agile framework, making decisions quickly, learning quickly and course correcting to move through releases.



Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business or IT.

3+ years’ industry experience as a Product Owner/Manager.

A track record of successfully commercialising products

Ability to communicate clearly at various levels, from technical requirements to stakeholder management.

Detail oriented and organised with the ability to manage and simplify complex systems & requirements.

Agile process experience with an ability to work in small teams.

Experience using Azure DevOps Boards or similar
